Hydraulic Test Bench Sensor Solution
Publication date:2026-10-13 00:19
Hydraulic test benches are often used to test and repair hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors, hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic valves. Pressure sensors are used to measure the pressure of hydraulic oil at the pump outlet, valve block inlet and outlet, before and after the tested component, both chambers of the cylinder, the oil tank (return back pressure) and the leakage oil circuit. Temperature sensors are used for the temperature of hydraulic oil in the oil tank, pump housing, valve block, main circuit, return circuit and cooler inlet and outlet. By measuring and controlling the pressure and temperature of the hydraulic system, the stable operation of the hydraulic test bench is ensured.
Application Challenges
1. High-temperature environment: hydraulic oil heats up significantly due to compression, throttling losses (valves, piping), pump/motor efficiency losses and environmental factors (can exceed 80° C or even higher).
2. High pressure: hydraulic systems usually operate at extremely high pressures (up to hundreds or even thousands of bar). Sensors must be able to withstand continuous high-pressure impact, pressure peaks (water hammer effect) and frequent pressure cycles without damage, drift or failure.
3. Vibration and shock: hydraulic pumps, valve opening and closing, and actuator movement all produce strong mechanical vibration and shock. This may cause loosening or damage to the sensor mechanical structure, or loosening or breaking of electrical connections.
Advantages and Features
1. Temperature compensation: the sensors have a built-in temperature compensation algorithm, use high-temperature-resistant and oil-resistant cables and connectors, and use 316 or 316L stainless steel for wetted parts;
2. High rated pressure: piezoresistive pressure sensors are used; for ultra-high pressure ranges, pulsation dampers or restrictors are installed to protect the sensor and smooth high-frequency noise;
3. Vibration-resistant sensors: products with superior vibration resistance are selected to test the impact of vibration<0.1%.
